1. About Australian Institute of Accreditation (AIA)
Australian Institute of Accreditation Pty Ltd (“AIA”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a nationally registered training organisation (RTO 45009) delivering nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET).
AIA designs, delivers, assesses, and issues certification for its courses directly.
We do not partner with other RTOs.
Training and assessment are delivered through AIA’s learning management system (LMS).
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using our website, LMS, or enrolling in a course, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms provided at the point of enrolment.
3. Course Access & Timeframes
Students are provided 8 weeks from the date of purchase to complete their course.
Extensions may be requested and may be granted at AIA’s discretion.
No refunds are available once the 8-week access period has expired, regardless of whether an extension has been granted.
If a course is not completed within the allowed timeframe and no further arrangements are approved, the enrolment will be cancelled and the student will be required to re-enrol to continue.
4. Assessment Requirements
To meet national training standards, students must complete all required assessments, which may include:

knowledge quizzes
-
written activities or case studies
-
third-party observation reports (TPOR)
-
practical tasks demonstrated via video evidence
Assessment evidence must:
-
be the student’s own work
-
be completed in a real or suitable operational food preparation environment
-
meet the Rules of Evidence (valid, sufficient, authentic, and current)
AIA reserves the right to require resubmission of assessment evidence where standards are not met. Resubmission fees may apply.
5. What Counts as “Starting an Assessment”
A student is considered to have started assessments once they have engaged with or submitted any of the following:
-
quizzes or knowledge checks
-
written assessment activities or case studies
-
third-party observation reports (TPOR)
-
video assessment evidence
6. Student Conduct & Acceptable Behaviour
Students must behave respectfully and professionally when interacting with AIA staff, assessors, systems, and assessment submissions.
Assessment submissions must not contain:
-
offensive, obscene, or profane language
-
sexually explicit content, nudity, or partial nudity
-
harassment, threats, or intimidation
-
racist, sexist, discriminatory, or derogatory material
-
content intended to mock, provoke, or undermine AIA staff or assessors
Any assessment evidence that breaches these standards will be:
-
rejected, and
-
marked Not Yet Competent, requiring resubmission (fees may apply)
AIA reserves the right to suspend or cancel enrolment for serious or repeated misconduct.
No refunds will be provided where enrolment is cancelled due to inappropriate behaviour or misconduct.
7. Assessment Review & Rejection Rights
AIA reserves the right to reject assessment evidence that is:
-
incomplete, unclear, or insufficient
-
not recorded in a suitable food preparation environment
-
not the student’s own work
-
staged, misleading, or deliberately non-compliant
-
unsafe or contrary to food safety standards
-
inappropriate or unprofessional in content or presentation
Assessment decisions are made by qualified assessors and are final, subject to AIA’s formal complaints and appeals process.
8. Age & Suitability
Students must be at least 14 years of age to enrol in nationally accredited food safety courses.
By enrolling, students confirm that they:
-
are capable of completing assessments independently
-
can safely participate in food preparation activities
-
have access to (or can reasonably obtain access to) a suitable operational food preparation environment
-
understand that practical assessment is mandatory
Prior hospitality experience is not required.
Failure to meet suitability requirements does not entitle a student to a refund.
9. Refund Policy
Refunds are subject to the following conditions:
-
A $15 non-refundable administration fee applies to all refunds
-
Refunds are only available if no assessments have been started
-
No refunds are provided once assessments have commenced, regardless of progress
-
No refunds are available once the 8-week course access period has passed, even if an extension has been granted
-
No refunds are provided due to:
-
failure to complete assessments
-
discomfort with video recording
-
lack of access to a suitable food preparation environment
-
By enrolling, students acknowledge that assessment requirements, timeframes, and refund conditions are clearly communicated prior to purchase.
10. Misuse of Services
Enrolment for the purpose of disruption, harassment, misuse of systems, or bad-faith participation is prohibited.
Where misuse is identified, AIA may:

terminate access immediately
-
cancel enrolment
-
withhold certification
-
refuse refunds
11. Recognition & Compliance
All nationally accredited courses are delivered and assessed in accordance with:
-
the Standards for RTOs
-
ASQA requirements
-
national training package assessment conditions
Certificates issued are nationally recognised and subject to audit and verification.
12. System Requirements
To complete courses, students require:
-
a modern web browser (latest versions recommended)
-
JavaScript and cookies enabled
-
PDF viewing capability
-
access to a device capable of recording video
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Training, assessment, and services are provided on an “as is” basis.
AIA does not guarantee that course completion will result in employment, promotion, business approval, or regulatory outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms are excluded.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AIA is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of income, data, business, or opportunity.
Where liability cannot be excluded, AIA’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the student for the relevant course.
15. Licence & Ownership
All website, LMS, and course content is owned or licensed by AIA and protected by intellectual property laws.
Students are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to access content for their own study purposes only.
Content must not be copied, shared, recorded, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
16. Errors, Technical Issues & Availability
We take reasonable steps to ensure reliable system access but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Technical issues, internet outages, or device compatibility problems do not automatically entitle a student to a refund.
17. Inbound & Outbound Links
You may link to our public website pages provided links are not misleading and do not imply endorsement.
Third-party links are provided for information only. AIA does not control or endorse external websites and is not responsible for their content.
18. Privacy
Personal information, including assessment evidence and video submissions, is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the website or LMS constitutes acceptance of the most current version.
